Homemade Chunky  Applesauce

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PREP TIME: 20 minutes

COOK TIME: 30 minutes

TOTAL TIME: 50 minutes

SERVINGS 4: ½ cups servings

Ingredients

3 pounds apples peeled, cored, and chopped (about 6 medium or 6 cups)

 

1/2 tsp cinnamon

 

2 tsp vanilla extract 

Instructions

 

Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan on high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, stir  and cover. 

Cook for 20 minutes or until the apples are very tender, stirring frequently.  Reduce heat to low and simmer for an additional 10 minutes thickens to a chunky consistency.

Makes 4 ½ cup serving.
